iloilo, second time around and i made it!!!

the title of this blog is kinda weird.. sorry about that coz i really dont know how to name this new post, since its a bit late but as i promise before ...i should blog about this...

Ok to start off, this is the story on how i get my title being a registered nurse, RN. A story of second chances and a story of faith and believing. Char~ a total drama.... well, actually it is! this is the story. Im going to try to remember the days, go back there for awhile and just remember.. hehehehe..

Last June 29 (if im not mistaken), we off to Iloilo for our Board examination. We went there by boat/ferry, its just an hour ride, good that the weather is not that harsh as before. Arrived at Iloilo past 8am, then off to our hotels after...stayed there and get settled for a bit for our luggages then after we follow our schedule. Our schedule starts with a mass at the Iloilo Cathedral with the main celebrant, the bishop. Then after we off to visit some churches... 9 to be exact but we ended up 6 or 7 due to some problems of time, not to mention or van got into trouble... after, we settled into our hotels and continue some classes/sessions.... yes, we still have 1 minute sessions even we are in diff city!

Second day, was scheduled for site visit. Site visit, is where we got to go to our designated school where we will going to take our exams. As for me, the school designated for is the Iloilo High School. We went there to check our rooms, chairs whatsoever for the big day of our examination. Took some photos while i was there. Then after, we went to SM City Mall for our Final Coaching. the last and final "coaching" the must remember and all, but that time, my mind is soooooooo full already with lots of information... so i just take it easy and just listen.. :) after that, went around for awhile, visit some bookstores (but didnt buy any).. im just too busy thinking about tomorrow. Picked up by our vans and went back to the hotel after.
On the night before the big day im not feeling well... stomach is aching really hard and having diarrhea, cant remember what "bad" foods i ate, or maybe it is just because of psychological symptoms im feeling, like anxiety and stress... but i never  give up.. took some meds before heaing to the school.

First day of exam... this is it.... First exam went well... some of the questions are hard but some are like "what"? Test I questions are basics nursing, but handled it well.... then there are breaks, an hour breaks after each exam... our center prepare some snacks for us... which i ended up not eating them.... then, here comes the second test, which involves a lot of reading. Test II involves community and communicable diseases... a lot reading i must say not to mention there are computations.. not good... the test are getting harder each sets.. tsk tsk.... and on the third test, the last one for that day involves diseases in circulation and breathing and mostly its all Medical-Surgical. damn Test III is way harder than the two.... gosh..... haish, after that day went back to the hotel after with headache on... never ate enough that day, feeling sick.. I called my parents that night that maybe ill be going home right after the exam coz im not feeling good... they got worried for a bit but i assured them that im doing good even if im not...

Second day of the exam, 2 more exams left... and not feeling well but still ticking.. but i must go on! Test IV and V went fine... i answered the things i knew and to those im not sure i just chose closer to the answer, get what i mean?? scientific guess.....hypothesis?? hehehe... :)

And that was it, almost 3 months of review and, you were given 2 days to do ur best on that exam.. and its OVER! there... its done.... dont look on the past, after that exam.. all we think is the Results.... another sacrifice we need to carry.. i mean, anxiety...... some of my friends cried, out of nervousness and all.... its part of life, i think....

Went back to our hotels and packed our stuffs, some of the people stayed for the after party and party... but most of people i knew went back home, catching the last trip back to Bacolod. Weather is not good when i got back, its raining but then mom and dad picked me up at the port. Good to be back home! i was talking starting from the port till we got home... all the stories.. hehehehe.... good times....

Here are some other pics: enjoy!

RN!

I cant find the right word to describe my feelings right now, it feels like im still in cloud 9 after i knew i passed the Nursing Licensure Examination (NLE) or aka ticket way for my nursing career. Yesterday, August 19,2011 the Board of Nursing released the said results in the net. At first i was terrified a bit, knowing that the results may turn out not so good as the previous one happened to me, (well let's skip about that).

I should say waiting for your name to appear in the list of passers is way scarier than a horror movie. Anxiety is up, cant concentrate for several times at that moment, then when all of the sudden my FB friends are posting that they passed already, and i was OMG!--and the words of "what if" comes into my mind. Ugh!!! It gets worse when website for the results is lagging terribly, so i decided to use the search engines, typed the words then it leads me to this other site, which i thought i can view the results, i clicked "R" since my surname starts from that letter, scroll down............. then there's NOTHING! and there i was.... i thought i didnt passed... looked again, then found out i did entered to the WRONG site, the results was dated 2010!!!!! i cried suddenly, i just go back to FB to hear some news if there's any links... then after a few minutes, i received a txt from my close friend D, and there..... i didnt stop from crying.... the txt said, "J, u made it...congrats!" a second later my classmate posted in my wall "29699 RETITA, JACELLE DIANE SALON" and from there i indeed, passed the examination.

noticed on my numbers???? kk^^ **wink
Bro announced to my mom and aunt who are in the living room that i passed the exam, saying my name very loud with the two letters, "RN" in the end. RN means Registered Nurse btw, so thats why i come up for the title of this blog. :) I immediately went to mom, crying and hugged her so tight...she is shouting "Yes,yes" and thanking a lot of people and especially to the Lord. She is definitely HAPPY, why cant she, she already have 2 nurses now... kk^^ then after he called dad in the cafe then dad said his heart is beating fast...like hyperventilating  happy dad... its like a drama i've been watching on tv. kk^^ now i know where i get being emotional easily...

I received a lot of congratulatory words from friends, relatives and family after. It feels really good, i know that they were there with me in everything, my ups and downs. And oh, a lot of us passed the exam btw, my friends, all my regards to them.... Congrats to us!So right now we are just waiting for the oathtaking! :)

with Calay, another RN! ^^
(taken during our grad last year Mar '10)
I want to take this opportunity to thank foremost to God, for being there with me not just only during the exam but also during the review days, to all the Saints that i've been praying, to Mama Mary, to Lord of Pardon, and to the Holy Spirit, thank you. I do hope hope u will always be with me as i started my career as an RN.

To my family and friends, who have been my inspiration to this journey. Thank you for believing in me. I love you all!
To my mentors, professors and the RGO team (review center), thank you guys.... ur not just teaching us mentally, emotionally and physically but also spiritually... Thank you!

So i guess ill end this blog with my title, "RN" this can be the start of my future, and the start of another journey...i know that it will not be all easy like riding in a smooth road but with this two letters i can mold to be a better and responsible person.

xoxo,
jas RN

Review days...

THIS BLOG WAS WRITTEN DURING MY REVIEW DAYS. WASN'T ABLE TO PUBLISH IT EARLY BECAUSE I DON'T HAVE A NET CONNECTION THAT TIME... IMMA POST THIS UP COZ ITS A BIT WORTH TO SHARE. ENJOY!

hello there bloggies~

im back in awhile... ok.. because i got 2 days off from the review so maybe that's why im up for blogging, but as im speaking right now, i only have 1 day left and then unending day of review is back again~few more weeks left, gosh! time is sooooooo fast! im a bit excited and at the same time scared! mixed emotions again!
to start off, im blogging ahead of time actually coz i dont have internet  in my room anymore, it's just need to focus more. kk^^ but what im doing right now, blogging is this a part of so called "focus"? oh well cant help myself to blog sometimes just to let my emotions and anxiety out... so hard to carry all this loads all by myself, so sharing can make it lighter, even i knew that only few people reading my blog, when i say few that means, 1 or 2... hahaha~ but its ok... atleast i share and let it out.... it really feels good!

i have so much to blog, but i dunno where to start! hmmmmm... ok, let's start now...since almost all my day is spent in review class i should talk about it. Usually my review starts at 8AM sometimes they adjust it to 8:30AM so i woke up each morning 7AM and i rush things up not to get late, but still I am LATE! so much routines like listening to music, net and finding the right clothes (not my fave part) it takes me almost 20mins to find the right outfit EVERYDAY! gosh, i wish i do have a fashion expert/patrol each morning...so sometimes i tend to wear so comfy clothes such as shirt and jeans only!tsk tsk tsk~ but i love wearing comfy outfits make me move freely,so carefree...

each review there's always a 100-200 questions prepared worst 300 everyday!!!!! can u survie like that? oh well, i did...but i ended up exhausted at the end of the day, but its helpful u know. so its ok, i can handle it,i get used to it by now!
learning is indeed fun but sometimes u cant deny to fall asleep in between lectures and discussions... but dont get me wrong, im not sleeping literally infront of the professors only on 30mins breaks, "power nap", that's what u called.

lunch and breaks, my friends and i tends to go out and eat outside, fastfood chains and restaurant are our best friends..kk^^ not to mention i ate a lot nowadays, back being piggy again~ cant help to eat steamed sweet corn (all time fave), and other street foods such as tempura and fish balls accompannied by ice scramble (crashed ice mixed with sugar, creams, and chocolate syrup). yummy. And also when i do have extra, im studying @Starbucks~

so all in all, i enjoy reviewing...oh cant believed i said that.. for now i rest my case...its kinda late and need to go to bed now~

Hachiko, the Loyal Dog.

Who among you here love dogs? Then you should watch this amazing movie I just watched earlier, HACHIKO,the Dog’s Story.
When I was a kid, Im so fond of watching dog movies, it maybe old classic dog story like Lassie and until now the new dog movies, which can be viewed in 3D.  It amazed and inspired me a lot, it maybe drama or comedy…… im so into DOG movies: and the fact also that I grew up with them.
Dogs are man’s best friend, I totally agree on that. We treat them as equal, the love and care we gave them they will always give it back. I can testify to that.

The film itself is based on a true story, back when I was not born. ^__^  it is dated 1920’s or something in Japan, but the movie was set in US. It is about a dog who gave his dedication and love to his master until the end. I was so strucked that even now while writing this blog im still in tears. Yup, I did cry…. Not just once, but several times in the movie. Still curious, you should watch the movie. Promise, you will definitely understand me. I will not give any spoiler in my blog as always, so better watch the movie… When I blog a certain movie here, then it is a MUST watch!
Here are some things you need to know about the movie: trailer, and pics… enjoy!

 the trailer...

meet the real Hachi

in honor of his loyalty and love, Japanese people  made a monument only for him.

So in the future, when I got the chance to go to Japan, I would definitely visit his monument…

So to all the DOG LOVERS out there, don’t miss to watch HACHIKO, Dog’s Story alright? You will never regret.

**Warning: Prepare your handkerchief, tissue or pillow or anything that comforts you while watching the movie especially at the end part. J

Ohhh, I suddenly missed our dogs who already died…especially Baby Baxter! L They will always be remembered. Their love, loyalty and dedication will never be forgotten! We love you guys!

meet Baby Baxter. He will always be remembered. He is our HACHI!
He is the dog who can sing, act and can do anything crazy...LOL!
now i missed him. i cant find someone like him!

till then, ** sobs
